2. Information We Collect

AllerGen collects and processes the following information to provide you with personalized health insights:

  • Facial Photographs: Baseline photos and daily check-ins for inflammation tracking
  • Food Photographs: Images of your meals for food identification
  • Food Intake Logs: Records of ingredients and meals you've consumed
  • Health Tracking Data: Inflammation scores, facial markers, and correlations between food and inflammation

Important: No account creation is required to use AllerGen. All your health data stays on your device.

3. Facial Data Collection and Use

Your facial data privacy is our top priority. Here's exactly how we handle your face photos:

What We Collect

Face photos and extracted facial landmarks used to analyze inflammation markers (periorbital bags, redness, jawline sharpness, etc.)

Why We Collect It

To analyze facial inflammation and correlate changes with your food intake, helping you identify foods that may be affecting your health.

How We Process It

100% on-device processing using Apple Vision framework. All facial analysis happens locally on your iPhone or iPad. Your face photos never leave your device.

Where It's Stored

Locally on your device only. Face photos and facial analysis data are stored in your device's secure local storage.

Who Can Access It

Only you. Your facial data is never shared with AllerGen servers, third parties, or any external services. We cannot access your face photos.

How Long We Keep It

Facial data remains on your device until you delete the app or use the "Reset All Data" option in Settings.

4. Third-Party Services

AllerGen uses minimal third-party services to provide our food identification feature:

OpenAI API

  • What we send: Food photographs only (NOT face photos)
  • Purpose: To identify ingredients in your meals
  • What's NOT sent: Your face photos, facial analysis data, or any personally identifiable information

No Other Third-Party Access

No other third-party services have access to any of your data. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising networks, or data brokers.

5. Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data in AllerGen:

Export All Data

You can export all your health data, food logs, and inflammation history at any time through the Settings menu. Your data will be provided in a standard format that you can view, save, or transfer.

Delete All Data

Use the "Reset All Data" option in Settings to permanently delete all your facial photos, food logs, and health tracking data from your device. This action cannot be undone.

No Account Required

AllerGen does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information like your name, email, or phone number. You can use the app completely anonymously.

Data Portability

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you maintain full ownership and control. You can back up your data through your device's standard backup mechanisms (iCloud, local backups).

6. Data Security

We implement strong security measures to protect your information:

  • On-device processing: Facial analysis happens entirely on your device using Apple's secure Vision framework
  • Local storage: All sensitive health data is stored in your device's secure local storage, protected by iOS security features
  • Minimal data transmission: Only food photos are sent to external services (OpenAI) for identification
  • No cloud storage: We do not store your facial photos or health data on any servers
  • No tracking: We do not use analytics, advertising IDs, or other tracking technologies

7. Data Retention

Since AllerGen stores all data locally on your device:

  • Your data persists on your device until you delete the app or use the "Reset All Data" option
  • We do not retain any of your facial photos or health data on our servers
  • Food photos sent to OpenAI for identification are processed and not retained by us
  • When you delete the app, all local data is removed from your device

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new privacy policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
